There are many manufacturers of network devices. Although the basic principles that make routing and forwarding network traffic possible are the same from manufacturer to manufacturer the way different devices perform routing is very different.
Juniper Networks is a trusted manufacturer and developer of routing devices, as well as Junos, the operating platform that these devices use. Junos’ instructions for routing network traffic may seem confusing or strange to those who have never used it.
You’ll be able to understand how Junos devices route and forward traffic and will be able to move it around once you have completed this training.
This two-part series covers topics like understanding traffic forwarding and how to distinguish between forwarding tables and routing tables. It also discusses what goes into route preferences.
